The most elusive stamp in Volume 1, Syria 106c, has been offered twice to my knowledge this year. (My knowledge, unfortunately, being after the fact so I couldn't alert anyone.)
Cherrystone in July 2022 offered one copy as part of a lot that sold for $230 before fees:
Lot #1436
SYRIA
1921-22 selection
of seven inverted or double overprints, some duplication, including
25pi on 5fr, also "25c" on 10c green (error), h.r., fine-v.f.
Rasdale had a copy in their November auction that Big Blue blog's reader Ray was able to acquire for the bargain price of $120 before fees. You can read more about that by scrolling down to the bottom of Jim's blog entry for Syria:

And check out the thread here:

I don't actively search for 106c these days, so any new sightings would be most appreciated. (Thanks Bud for the heads up about the Rasdale sale.)

AND, Filling Spaces long-time avid reader Ray!!
I was very fortunate to snag this one, and actually bid $450, so I was thrilled to win the bid at the price that I did. Thank you, Bob, for all your work on this blog for all of us BB collectors!
Oh my, I would have loved to have seen this offering of the elusive Syria 106c stamp but completely missed hearing about it.
On a more positive note, I can now report that I have passed 17,000 different stamps in my International Part 1A1-1B2 pages for 1840-1940 which I have been working to fill with all mint stamps for the past few years.
Thanks to the heads up from various posts about Syria 106c, I have searched for this stamp for the best part of five years to no avail, until I found it (big plug for Stamp Auction Network) at a recent auction at Garden City Philatelic Auctions in Victoria BC last month. I just received it and I thought I’d let you know these stamps are still out there but turn up rarely. You know that of course. When I started I had no idea how hard this was going to be. The Syria 106c is a genuine rarity, deserving of a ‘Very Rare’ label as there are less than 30-50 known (wild guess) which is less than the number of upside down Flying Jenny stamps.
I will now retire from the world of hunting rarities at auctions and focus back on completing my now more achievable goal of filling Big Blue. Happy hunting fellow fillers.
Mark, I've stopped monitoring the availability of this stamp, so your post was very interesting. Thanks.
Mark, sincere congratulations! What can you tell us about the purchase? Although I bid $480, I won the stamp for IIRC, $120.
Also, there is a France and Colonies dealer who had 2- #106c's on his site, but he wanted over $300 each for them.
On another note, I'm almost 93% on my BB now, at over 32,500 and counting, and looking forward to finding the last 2400 or so.... Ray
